1. Day :
Boarding the yacht in Marmaris, we share a ‘welcome aboard’ drink with the captain and crew. A short briefing from the captain gives us all we need to know about the boat and how we will spend our week on board. Dinner and overnight in Marmaris Harbor.
2. Day :
After breakfast, we head south to Kadirga for our first spot of swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing. Lunch here in Kadirga. Later in the afternoon, we cruise to the end of the Loryma Peninsula, arriving at Bozukkale (ancient Loryma) in time to see the ruins ashore before sunset. The Hellenistic fort on the ridge, was built in the 14th century makes for a superb setting.
3. Day :
After breakfast, we depart for a cruise in the small Yesilova Gulf and spend some time swimming and relaxing in these waters before moving on to the port town of Datca. Once we are tied up on the quay, there will be time to explore the streets and do some shopping. Dinner and overnight in Datca Harbor.
4. Day :
Today we head for ancient Knidos at the tip of the Datca Peninsula. On the way, we stop at Palamut Buku for lunch and a swim. By early afternoon, we are anchored in Knidos’ ancient port and take time ashore to visit the extensive ruins, including the Temple of Aphrodite. As Knidos is not a sheltered harbor, we head north to Mersincik – a delightful anchorage with crystal-clear waters.
5. Day :
Today we spend a few hours cruising north to Bodrum, but once we are there, we are free to roam the shop-lined streets, see the sights and in the evening, take in some wonderful nightlife. Dinner and overnight in Bodrum Harbor.
6. Day :
Another day of cruising, this time to Yediadalar, or the Seven Islands – picturesque and tranquil. Overnight in Kufre Bay, famous for its storax trees – you may like to take a walk through this forest. The possibility of a barbecue tonight.
7. Day :
Breakfast over, a couple of hour’s cruising takes us to Sedir Island (ancient Cedrae). Here, we have the opportunity to visit the ruined theatre and swim at the lovely “Cleopatra’s beach” on the west side of the island. The sand on this beach was reputedly brought from Africa under Cleopatra’s instruction. We move on to a bay in English Harbor, where we will have lunch. English Harbor was so named as during the Second World War, a group of British Torpedo Boats hid in the cove during the day time. Towards evening, we move on to Karacasogut for dinner and the overnight.
8. Day :
We disembark in Karacasogut after breakfast.
